When a new generation was to take over a fantastic 18th Century estate situated in the Swedish countryside, they wanted to renovate the third floor to use as the family's private apartment. The family wanted this apartment to be contemporary in style but still keep a reference to the estate's Gustavian architecture and the museum-like lower floors. This was achieved with a colour palette of soft tones of green and grey mixed with colourful accents. Historical fabrics were combined with contemporary patterns and a lot of inherited furniture was given new life. Modern art was introduced to create interest and lighting was improved significantly. The result is a calm family home where guests feel at ease.
