With breathtaking views over the city and the Oslo fjord, this house, once a hunting lodge from the 1920s, is now a warm and inviting family home. To accommodate for a growing family and modern living standards, the house was enlarged with a new wing which more than doubled its original size. To make the new wing feel integrated with the old lodge, a great amount of care was taken when choosing materials, colours and patterns. The owners’ brief was basically to make it feel like a Norwegian mountain chalet, but with just that little extra residential touch plus all the modern facilities you can think of. The result is a new old house with lots of charm and a truly magical atmosphere.
